Outline And Notes
Every map is also an outline, and every topic can carry a note. Switch between the map and the outline at any time; they are the same map.
The Outline
Choose Outline in the Map, Outline and Map Setup choice at the top of the window. Topics show as an indented list.
- Return adds a topic, Tab and ⇧Tab indent and outdent.
- ⌘↑ and ⌘↓ move a topic up or down.
- Space or F2 edits a topic.
- Settings ▸ Notes and Outline ▸ Show notes in the outline shows each topic's note under it.
Notes
Press F4 (or choose Notes) to open the notes pane for the selected topic. Notes are written in Markdown, with Edit and Preview, and are saved as you type.
- The pane sits below or beside the map (Settings ▸ Notes and Outline ▸ Notes pane). On iPhone it opens as a sheet.
- Settings can open the notes pane with each map.
- Notes are searched by the Library and by Find and Replace, and exported with the map when Include notes is on.
Word Count And Speaking Time
The status strip at the bottom of the map shows the word count and how long the map takes to say aloud, at the speaking pace set in Settings ▸ Presenting. The inspector shows the same for a selected topic and its branch.
