Templates
A template is a map to start from. FerventMind includes two, and any map can become one.
Start From A Template
- On the Mac, choose File ▸ New from Template… (⇧⌘N) and pick a template, or Blank for an empty map in your Style for New Maps.
- On iPhone and iPad, the launch screen has a button for each template, such as New Message and New Pencil Notes.
The Built-In Templates
- Message lays out a talk or sermon: the passage, an introduction, three points (each with Scripture, explanation, application and a recap), a conclusion and prayer, with a branch of study notes beside it. See Message Maps.
- Pencil Notes is a single central topic that opens in Pencil mode on iPad, ready to write on cards. See Pencil Cards.
Save Your Own
Choose File ▸ Save as Template… with any map open. The map as it is now, its named text and look included, becomes a template in iCloud Drive ▸ FerventMind ▸ Templates, and is offered on all your devices. In the template chooser, your own templates can be renamed or deleted.
A template's empty named texts are slots: write a point once and every topic using it fills in. See Named Text.
