Links, Spotlight And Shortcuts
Open a map, or one topic in it, from another map, Spotlight, the Shortcuts app, a widget, or another of your devices.
Links To Topics
Select a topic and choose Copy Link to Topic. Paste the link into another map's topic, a note, or another app; opening it opens the map at that topic. Links work for maps in your Library folder or the FerventMind folder, on every device that sees the same iCloud folders. Links made by iThoughts work too.
Spotlight
Your maps appear in Spotlight. Settings ▸ Spotlight ▸ Maps in Spotlight chooses Map Names Only, Names and Topic Text, or Off.
Handoff
A map open on one device can continue on another: look for FerventMind in the Dock on the Mac or the app switcher on iPhone and iPad. It opens at the topic you had selected. Handoff works for maps in your Library folder or the FerventMind folder.
Shortcuts And Siri
The Shortcuts app has four FerventMind actions:
- Open Map opens a map from your library.
- Add Topic to Map adds a topic (with an optional note) under the map's topic named Inbox, or under the central topic.
- New Map makes a map in the FerventMind folder, from a template if you choose one, and opens it.
- Export Map gives you a map as Markdown, OPML, plain text or a web page.
Say "Open a map in FerventMind", "Add a topic in FerventMind" or "New map in FerventMind" to Siri. Adding topics and making maps need Unlock Editing.
Widget
The Recent Maps widget shows the maps you opened last, in three sizes. Tap one to open it.
Quick Look
In Finder and Files, FerventMind and iThoughts maps show a picture of the map as their icon, and Quick Look shows it larger.
